The buzz centers around GOAT, a big-budget animated project produced by Curry’s Unanimous Media and scheduled to release on February 13, right in the middle of NBA All-Star Weekend. Shortly after the announcement circulated, Reese shared the news herself, helping push the reveal across social media and into mainstream sports conversation.

For Reese, GOAT represents her first full-fledged voice-acting role in a feature film. She will voice Propp, a polar bear athlete who competes on a rival team in the movie’s fictional sports universe.
The film follows an anthropomorphic goat named Will as he chases his dream of turning professional in “roarball,” a fast-paced, co-ed, full-contact sport dominated by the strongest animals in the world. Designed with younger audiences in mind, GOAT blends competition, humor, and heart while keeping sports at the center of its story.
Reese’s involvement is a step forward from her brief on-screen cameo alongside Idris Elba in A House of Dynamite. This project gives her a chance to carry a character and showcase her personality through voice work, a lane that has increasingly become a popular crossover for elite athletes.

A’ja Wilson and Stephen Curry Add Star Power to Expanding Cast
Reese isn’t the only basketball star attached to the project. A’ja Wilson also lends her voice to the film, portraying Kouyate, a crocodile character within the roarball world. With Curry producing and multiple basketball icons involved, GOAT reflects a growing trend of NBA and WNBA stars expanding their presence in animation and entertainment.

Athletes crossing into animated films is nothing new. LeBron James (Smallfoot), Shaquille O’Neal (The Lego Movie), and Michael Jordan (Space Jam) all paved the way. What stands out here is the prominence of WNBA stars taking on meaningful roles rather than brief cameos.

Reese’s Hollywood move fits neatly into her rapidly growing off-court profile. Already one of the most marketable players in women’s basketball, she boasts a massive social media following and a portfolio of major brand partnerships. While currently she continues to manage a lingering back issue, her involvement in GOAT adds another milestone to an already eventful phase of her career.

Moreover, with Curry’s announcement spreading quickly and Reese and Wilson both attached, the film’s rollout has immediately crossed into mainstream sports culture. The February release has fans counting the days.
