The New York Jets suffered a disappointing 27-14 loss to the New England Patriots. While many might be quick to point fingers at quarterback Justin Fields, running back Breece Hall sees things differently. He admitted that there was another issue that led to the team’s loss.

Speaking to the reporters, Hall explained that the receivers need to do a better job catching the ball and helping their QB out while praising Fields’ efforts.
“Honestly, it was really just on us not making plays. I felt like Justin played his tail off today. He put the ball out there. We’ve just got to do a better job of making plays for him,” he said when asked about how things went after the Jets’ first opening drive TD since Week 16 of last season.

“Not every ball’s going to be perfect. Not every situation’s going to be ideal, but at the end of the day, you’ve got to still find a way to make a play. I feel like as a skill group, we’ve got to do a better job of making it easier for our O-line and quarterback.”

Breece Hall had a decent game himself, finishing with 58 rushing yards on 14 carries and only six receiving yards. Wide receiver Adonai Mitchell dropped two passes from Fields in his debut game. Now, Fields managed some great throws, and one of those was to wide receiver John Metchie III.

Other than that, he couldn’t make an impact. He finished 15 of 26 for 116 yards. The Jets’ QB was also without his top target. Wide receiver Garrett Wilson has been placed in the injury reserve after he aggravated his knee injury after he injured it in Week 6. This means Wilson will be out for at least 4 more games. This could hurt the Jets even more.
Head coach Aaron Glenn is also heavily criticized for choosing Fields to start the game. And the criticism has only continued to grow after their embarrassing loss to the Patriots, while quarterback Drake Maye had one of the best performances despite the absence of two WRs.

After the loss, Mitchell came forward to take responsibility for his mistakes.
Adonai Mitchell addressed his dropped passes
Field’s struggles with WRs on the field were real. Their newly acquired player, in exchange for cornerback Sauce Gardner, Adonai Mitchel, to put it bluntly, struggled on the field. He had 10 receiving yards in total. He could have increased that number if he hadn’t dropped the ball on two separate occasions.

One of his two dropped passes was on a crucial third-and-4. Fields made a good throw. However, the ball slipped through Mitchell’s hands. Later, he opened up about his abysmal performance.
“If I could get it back, I’d more go up and attack the ball instead of letting it come down,” Mitchell said. “I misjudged the ball, and at the end of the day, I’ve got to be better on that.”
“It was a great pass, so it should have been an explosive [play] for the Jets. I point the finger at myself and say I need to perform better.”

Coach Aaron Glenn has faith in the player. And he even backed the WR during his interview.
“He missed some balls today. I think we all saw that,” Glenn said. “I think he will tell you himself that he’s got to make some of those plays that he was thrown to.”
The coach seems to be confident that the player will improve. But right now, what is dwindling is fans’ patience after the Jets landed 2-8. Another loss in Week 12 won’t be a great sight. What are your thoughts? Who do you think was responsible for the loss?
