Essentials Inside The Story

  • The Kelces are working on a new, exciting project.
  • However, Travis Kelce still needs to think about his NFL career.
  • Whether he decides to play again or retire is not known.

After tags like football players and podcasters, Travis Kelce and older brother, Jason Kelce, are ready to pick up the pen and call themselves authors. The duo made an announcement that their project with HarperCollins Publishers will soon hit the bookshelves.

“When we started the ‘No Dumb Questions’ segment on ‘New Heights,’ never in our wildest dreams did we think it would become a book sitting on your coffee table,” they said in a press release statement to PEOPLE. “But we’ve had a blast with it, and we’re stoked the 92%ers can take home a little piece of the podcast, including some too ridiculous to make it on the show.”

The book will include humor, wit, and heart that viewers have witnessed on the New Heights podcast, and will also feature questions from their fans. Think along the lines of: “Do you add the cereal or the milk to the bowl first?”

It will also have illustrations, photos, and exclusive content. It will go on sale on June 2, 2026; however, preorders are available now.

“Whether debating if a straw has one or two holes or sharing family holiday traditions, the book captures the spirit of America’s favorite siblings and their ability to make even the silliest questions wildly entertaining,” the synopsis of the book reads. But it doesn’t end there.

This won’t be Travis’s first book.

The Little Book of Travis Kelce, which was published in 2024, was his first. It is a collection of inspirational quotes in his own words, and he also has a biography: Travis Kelce: The Inspiring Story of One of Football’s Star Tight Ends, which was written by Clayton Geoffreys.

They also announced on Wednesday that they are planning to open a New Heights-themed store with Amazon. It’ll be somewhere in Culver City, California, and will also have an online store. They plan to sell New Heights merchandise.

The Kelce brothers have four Super Bowls combined. Jason has one with the Philadelphia Eagles, and Travis has three with the Kansas City Chiefs. Even after so much success in their career, they still cannot get around being recognised as authors.

Jason retired from the Eagles after the 2023 season and has been fully invested in his family and podcast, while also being a part of ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown pregame crew. And now, he will have something new to look forward to.

On the other hand, Travis is still actively playing in the NFL for the Chiefs, while juggling time between the podcast and his fiancée, Taylor Swift. However, rumors of his retirement have been flying high. Despite it, the tight end came clear about his retirement recently.

Travis Kelce wants to stay active in the NFL as a player

Travis Kelce will want to forget the 2025 season as soon as possible. Not only did the Chiefs fail to make it to the playoffs for the first time in a decade, but it was also a losing season. To further rub salt on the wound, speculation of the tight end’s retirement has never been higher. But Kelce has a different perspective.

“I don’t know, it’s a tough thing to navigate,” Kelce said last week.

“But at the same time, if my body can heal up, rest up and I can feel confident that I can go out there and give it another 18-, 20-21 week run. I think I would do it in a heartbeat. Right now is just finding that answer. And seeing how the body feels after this game and when it all settles down.”

While he seems to be optimistic, his contract says otherwise. His contract with the Chiefs will expire on March 11, 2026, and he will enter free agency. Head coach Andy Reid has yet to take any step regarding his star TE. It remains unclear whether he will bring back Kelce or not.

The three-time Super Bowl winner made 76 catches for 851 yards and scored five touchdowns. He was also selected as a Pro Bowler for the 11th consecutive season. While his stats are lower than in previous years, it helped him become the quickest tight end to record 13,000 receiving yards in the NFL (13,002). Kelce still has one more game to go before the NFL season officially wraps up. He will play in the 2026 Pro Bowl on February 3 in San Francisco.

There is a big question mark whether the Chiefs will offer him a contract extension or if he will go to another franchise. His teammate Chris Jones wants the TE to return in the Chiefs’ shirt next season, while NFL legend Rob Gronkowski walks in the direction of Kelce, ending his career in a different franchise, where he will win his fourth Super Bowl. It remains to be seen how No. 87’s retirement saga concludes. But for now, he is excited about his upcoming book launch.
