The Kansas City Chiefs met with another disappointing result as they lost to the Denver Broncos in a Week 11 matchup. It dropped their season to 5-5, which continues to derail their playoff chances. Amid all the frustration, Andy Reid’s Chiefs still have the chance.

The Chiefs remain one of the most likely contenders for the Super Bowl.

As per the Athletic reporter, Jesse Newell, “It’s actually remarkable that the Chiefs remain tied as the AFC’s most-likely team to win the Super Bowl, given they aren’t even a lock at this point to make the playoffs.”

This is surprising because they currently sit at .500 with several issues at hand. However, with a 57 percent chance of reaching the postseason a playoff spot is not far from reach. Per TruMedia, Kansas City has scored on 48.9 percent of its possessions. This is the second-best mark for the Mahomes era. So they can pull off some late wins.

Apart from this, the Chiefs remain one of the best offenses in the league, as they score on approximately half of their possessions. Their issue is with timing. That was true again in Mahomes’ outing in Denver, in which he completed 29-of-45 passes for 276 yards with one touchdown and one interception, but also missed opportunities in big spots.

After the loss, Mahomes didn’t hide from blame: “Having an opportunity at the end of the game and not coming through… Just being better in that scenario.”

The Chiefs had possession to take the lead in the last minutes of that Week 11 game, but one stalled series and one drive-ending sack led to a punt.

He continued, ”There are things here and there, but I think that’s the biggest one… You want opportunities… but I didn’t come through.”

The Broncos took over afterward, drove down the field, and kicked the game-winning goal from 35 yards out as time expired. For the Chiefs, it was another example of inches determining an outcome. It’s become the defining trait of their season. With their other remaining opponents set to be the Colts, Cowboys, and Texans before that rematch with Denver, the Chiefs are staring at one of the toughest remaining stretches in the AFC.

The margin for error shrinks, and every game now carries the feel of a must-win. The analytic models still say that if Kansas City can steady itself, the door remains wide open for a late push.

Even though the Chiefs took another hit, CBS walked away with a milestone.

As per the CBS report, their 4:25 PM ET game window stands as the number one program in Week 11. This game averaged 28.89 million viewers. Even if the Chiefs’ season is going downhill, Patrick Mahomes’ presence surely guarantees ratings.

CBS also stated that its national window is averaging over 25 million viewers per game. For the Chiefs, the ratings spike is a reflection of their ongoing relevance and the heightened scrutiny that accompanies a dynasty facing its first real crossroads. Kansas City sits in an AFC logjam with the Ravens and Texans for the No. 8 seed, trailing Jacksonville, which holds a head-to-head tiebreaker.
