San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan defended his wide receiver, Jauan Jennings, after he struck the Panthers’ safety Tre’von Moehrig following a 20-9 win for the 49ers.

“The guy took a cheap shot and hit him in the balls and was real proud of Jauan for not losing his mind out there,” he said following the game.
The incident began when Moehrig hit Jennings below the belt, prompting the open-handed shot to his helmet and a brief melee.
