Divorce changes everything.  “Is it ever gonna be over?’ It’s the longest divorce in history,” were the questions Larsa Pippen admitted to asking herself when she opted for a divorce from NBA legend Scottie Pippen. Their divorce, which had become a spectacle in the public eye, put their kids into turmoil too. But Larsa always maintained how the once NBA power couple navigates through co-parenting. “I feel like we co-parent, our conversations are only about our children. And so that’s kind of how it goes,” She had said earlier about her parenting style.

So as the young Scottie Pippen Junior’s birthday arrived, Larsa, who still carries the Pippen last name, showered her son with love. She marked Pippen Jr.’s birthday with a warm post that felt straight from the heart. “Hbd to my first born! I’m so proud of you, keep chasing your dreams, it’s just the beginning. Love u so much,” she wrote on Instagram, while posting a series of photos on the platform.

That post included a collection of seven photos that recalled moments from their family’s story. The first photo showed Larsa and Scotty Jr. together. The rest moved through snapshots of his life, some solo shots of the young guard, including one in his Memphis Grizzlies uniform. One slide that stood out was a picture of Scotty Jr. with his father, Scottie Pippen, and his younger brother. While his mother showered him with love, his beloved father was not far behind.

Scottie Pippen made sure his son felt celebrated. The Hall of Famer posted his own birthday tribute with a picture of him laughing with Scotty Jr. Across the image, his caption read: “Happy Birthday. Proud of you, wishing you many, many more.” Scottie Jr, who was born in 2000, turned 25 this year, while his NBA career is on hold due to his sesamoidectomy surgery. But he became the reason; once again, his parents were united for him.

Few celebrity splits were as public or as drawn-out as Scottie and Larsa’s. Their marriage unraveled over several years. They faced separation first in 2016. While attempts at reconciliation were made throughout the end of 2018, that didn’t last. Ultimately, a final legal divorce ended their marriage in 2021. During that time, multiple tabloids reported how accusations of infidelity and public disagreements kept their names in headlines. Yet moments like these show that once dealt with maturity, even divorce can settle up with due time.
