For years, one question has quietly lingered around women’s golf: ‘When will its stars get a stage built purely for them in the modern, prime-time spotlight?’ And as it appears, the time has finally arrived. TMRW Sports has officially confirmed a women’s-only version of its tech-driven TGL, answering long-standing calls from top LPGA players.

Tiger Woods’ TGL announced the news on X: “Introducing WTGL. Created by @TMRWSports in partnership with the @LPGA, WTGL is a new women’s team golf league featuring teams of the world’s best LPGA Tour stars.” They added, “WTGL is targeting a winter 2026–27 launch, with more details coming soon.”
Nelly Korda and her peers have been vocal about the same for a long time. They have voiced the need for a platform that shows off their true caliber and growing global appeal. The league is set to debut right after the 2026 LPGA season. It won’t be blending into an existing structure, but it will start and stand on its own.

Back in February, when Rose Zhang acquired the Bay Golf Club, she opened up about her interest on TGL. Zhang said, “The Bay Area has been more than just a place where I play golf – it’s become my home and community.” Michelle Wie West when was asked about her thoughts on having a women’s league under TGL back in October 2025, she said, “I mean, yeah, I would love to. Um, you know, I think we’ll see. We’ll see what happens. I can’t say too much.” Even golfer Lilia Vu echoed the same emotion and shared, “I think it would be really cool not to get a women’s version of it, but to get a women’s team on it.”
While they have already announced the WTGL, they will still have to figure out where the women’s league matches will be aired. For the LPGA, it’s a fresh chapter and for its players, it’s a long-awaited answer. And joining Zhang and Wie West, the world’s top female golfer, too, shared the same opinion.

Jeeno Thitikul weighs indoor golf’s appeal amid LPGA’s already packed schedule
Jeeno Thitikul, almost a year ago, at the press conference of HSBC Women’s World Championship in Singapore, voiced her take on having a women’s tech league. Right after the first season of TGL concluded, the Thai golfer was asked about her opinion on indoor golf.

Thitikul immediately said, “I think should be fun (indoor golf). Should be fun in the off-season.” Reflecting more on her familiarity with simulator golf she explained, “I have been experience one time in Korea. It’s just like a simulator golf. But it’s not as good as what they play in that one. That one is just like hit in the simulator and chip it, putt it.”
Although Thitikul embraced the idea, she also reflected on how it won’t be easy to incorporate the league in their already packed schedule. Back in February of 2025, the 22-year-old shared, “But you know, the schedule is kind of — pretty tight for us already.” Now, while the idea has already turned into reality, fans would just have to wait to witness how the event finally turns out.
