Brooks Koepka’s departure from LIV Golf naturally shifted focus to what it might mean for the league’s other marquee names. Bryson DeChambeau was among those placed under the microscope, especially after remarks he made earlier this offseason left room for interpretation. As that uncertainty lingered, the Crushers GC captain has now stepped in to clarify his position and address the speculation surrounding his future.

DeChambeau said, “Keeping this core together for 2026 positions us to build on the momentum we carried out of 2025. This group knows what it takes to win; we lifted the trophy in 2023 and finished second last season, and that experience fuels our drive to compete at the top week in and week out.”
“We’re a team of competitors, creators, and leaders who take pride in pushing the game forward, and having this group return gives us continuity, confidence, and a clear direction as we raise our standards heading into next season.”

As the tweet confirmed, Crushers GC will be playing with the same squad for the fifth season in a row. Apart from DeChambeau, Charles Howell III, Paul Casey, and Anirban Lahiri will be retained by the team. That continuity makes the Crushers the only team in LIV Golf to field the same four-man roster since the league’s inception. They will be eager to win their second Team Championship after nearly grabbing the title in the 2025 season. The stability has paid off before, the Crushers are tied for the most regular-season team wins in league history, with eight.
Interestingly, it seemed that DeChambeau’s status for 2026 was uncertain after he had made a statement about LIV Golf a few days after Koepka’s exit. While he stopped short of confirming whether he has signed a new contract beyond his current deal, DeChambeau did confirm he will compete in LIV Golf in 2026 as the Crushers’ captain.
The 32-year-old had said, “Things have got to change. Things have got to improve. And I think Scott’s done a fabulous job with the year that he’s had. And I think this year’s going to be even better, now he’s got the right people in place and he can run the organisation, the way he wants to do this here. So it’s going to be interesting to see, especially with the new branding coming on. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens.”

Those comments, made in the immediate aftermath of Koepka’s exit, were widely interpreted as a sign that DeChambeau was reassessing his long-term future with the league. Despite his positive feedback about CEO Scott O’Neil, he still had higher expectations from LIV Golf. Consequently, speculations arose regarding his possible exit from the Saudi-based promotion. DeChambeau had even suggested he could walk away and focus on YouTube golf content without financial pressure, further fueling uncertainty.

Bryson DeChambeau’s big reveal bodes well for the Crushers
Ever since the 2025 season of LIV Golf ended, nearly every LIV Golf team has been looking to recruit new players. Brooks Koepka’s exit has seen Smash GC replace him with former 4Aces player, Harold Varner III.

Meanwhile, Thomas Detry and Elvis Smylie have been confirmed as new LIV Golf signings. The former is expected to replace Varner in the 4Aces squad, and Smylie will be a part of Rippers GC. Several teams, however, still have open roster spots heading into the opening event of the 2026 season in Saudi Arabia.
There have been a few other moves in other squads as well. But with Bryson DeChambeau confirming that the Crushers GC are not making any changes, they will go in as the strongest team into the 2026 season. Alongside DeChambeau, fellow two-time major champion Jon Rahm now stands as one of LIV Golf’s most prominent remaining stars following Koepka’s departure. The four-man Crushers squad has been together since the beginning of LIV Golf and shares a great dynamic.
That continuity, more than any offseason addition, positions them as one of the most settled and proven teams in the field heading into 2026.
