He has paid his dues; now he is back where he belongs. Brooks Koepka applied for reinstatement to the PGA Tour on January 10, 2026. Today, Brian Rolapp’s office confirmed that he has been reinstated to the Tour, albeit after paying a substantial penalty. Despite that, Koepka was grateful to get the opportunity to return.

The 35-year-old tweeted, “I want to thank my family and my team for their continued support throughout every step of my professional career. When I was a child, I always dreamed about competing on the @PGATOUR, and I am just as excited today to announce that I am returning to the PGA TOUR. Being closer to home and spending more time with my family makes this opportunity especially meaningful to me.”

When the news of Koepka’s exit from LIV Golf first broke out, it was made clear that he wanted to spend more time with his family. The constant traveling across the world with the PIF-funded league made it difficult for him to do that. But now that he is moving back to the PGA Tour, he will be able to play closer to home and travel back to his family more often. But that’s not the only thing that convinced Koepka to join the Tour again.

“I believe in where the PGA TOUR is headed with new leadership, new investors, and an equity program that gives players a meaningful ownership stake. I also understand there are financial penalties associated with this decision, and I accept those. Finally, I want to thank the fans. Your support means more to me today than ever before, and I look forward to seeing you soon at the Farmers Insurance Open and WM Phoenix Open.”

It seems that Koepka has been impressed with Rolapp’s leadership. The new PGA Tour CEO has made some bold moves to gradually improve the quality of golf presented by the league. That encouraged him to pay the penalties and get back into the system so that he could enjoy the benefits as well.

As Koepka stated, he will be in action at Torrey Pines and TPC Scottsdale in the next few weeks. Fans would be particularly excited to watch him play in at least one of those events.

Brooks Koepka might get a loud welcome at TPC Scottsdale

Brooks Koepka is cleared to play from January 29, 2026, in the Farmers Insurance Open. However, his record at Torrey Pines is not that impressive. But the 35-year-old would still be eager to change that on his comeback.

However, he will be most excited to return to TPC Scottsdale. Having made only five appearances there, Koepka holds one of the most impressive records in the WM Phoenix Open. He has won the event twice and finished third once.

Lastly, as per reports, Brooks Koepka has received a full exemption for the PGA Tour till 2028. And considering his emotional statement upon his return, he is pretty excited about the same. But it will still be interesting to see how he performs on the Tour after spending three seasons in LIV Golf.
