Essentials Inside The Story

  • Amanda Balionis talks about a reality check that she recently received.
  • The CBS Sports reporter is anything but getting old as she keeps herself active.
  • She also shed light on her injury setback.

No one would ever call Amanda Balionis old, especially when it comes to her energy levels. The CBS Sports reporter barely takes any vacation before switching between the PGA Tour and the NFL. She is actively pursuing better physical health with meditation, yoga, and workouts. Not to mention, simple on-field interviews in golf can be a HIIT in itself. But very recently, the 39-year-old experienced a situation where she had a reality check that she isn’t as young either.

“So I’m walking home from a friend’s house and there was a party happening on the top floor of a building across the street and for a second I was like, ‘Oh that seems really fun’ and then my very next thought was ‘Oh my God! If I was their neighbors, I would kill them!’ and in that moment I realized, I’m officially old. I am the person that I used to make fun of, like my parents. That’s how fast it happens, kids, head on a swivel,” Balionis candidly stated.

If the reality check wasn’t clearly visible by her look, she further added the caption, “Life comes fast at you,” only adding more urgency to her realization.

However, it is not to say that she is not an up-and-runner. In fact, she’s always finding the next opportunities.

While the golf season is over, she has already made a place in CBS Sports’ NFL sideline reporting. When not there, she was at the Tito’s Shorties Classic on November 29, 2025, to cover the Asia Pacific Amateur Championship in Dubai. Amanda Balionis served as the host for the recent Tito’s Shorties Classic at Butler Pitch and Putt in Austin, Texas, as well.

But in a pure Balionis way, she blatantly used self-deprecating humor to candidly reflect upon aging. However, some things are also out of her control, like her pinched-nerve condition.

Amanda Balionis shares details of her injury setback

In the face of uncertainty and pressure, Amanda Balionis is usually the one who takes it all head-on. However, one thing that always gets the CBS Sports reporter is her father’s death anniversary. After losing Tony in September 2018, things got bad and then worse for her. For her, the grief manifested as physical symptoms.

First, she gained 15 lbs within a couple of weeks back then. Since then, while she tries to keep it under control, she has been experiencing a peculiar issue: a pinched nerve.

So, in September this year, she revealed the condition while also mentioning that she is consulting a chiropractor and alternating heat and cold therapy. But recently, she updated her fans once again.

“Pinched nerve update: Already feeling relief from (chiropractor) appointment this morning. Pain is actually stemming from C4/C5 and going down into my shoulder blade,” wrote Balionis on her Instagram story a couple of months back.

She also informed her fans about ceasing the heat therapy. “I’m stopping the heat therapy. Sticking to ice and Advil. Acupuncture appointment tonight for a final Hail Mary before a crazy few weeks of travel,” Balionis said.

The worst part about these injuries is that they are extremely hard to treat and also cause significant hindrances in performing day-to-day activities. For Balionis, it certainly is a cause of worry. However, none of this means she is already old, right?
