If there’s anything more important than quality of matches in sports, it’s ratings and viewership. Within the wrestling industry, WWE and AEW clashed for ratings when NXT and Dynamite, their respective shows, aired on the same day.

However, WWE moved NXT to Tuesday nights, eliminating the competition for both companies. When it first happened, AEW brought in viewership above a million.

Unfortunately, this week, the ratings for AEW Dynamite: April 28, 2021, dropped to 889,000. It captured a 0.33 demo rating in the 18-49 demographic, which was a drop from last week’s 0.37.

Even though the exact reason for the ratings falling is not known, it’s possible the ratings dropped because of President Biden’s address to Congress. Several viewers tuned in to watch the speech, which aired around the same time as AEW Dynamite.

While this wasn’t ideal, the situation was beyond AEW’s control. If the ratings continue to fall in the coming week, only then will the company be able to know if it’s an issue with the show itself.

However, AEW Dynamite has been performing better than WWE NXT lately. In fact, there were times Dynamite looked competitive enough to challenge Raw.

Both stables cut passionate promos, letting the other know what’s coming to them next week.

Initially, MJF used to be a part of Chris Jericho’s stable. However, he betrayed Jericho, left The Inner Circle, and formed his own faction.

One of the better build ups to the match between the factions was when MJF took over The Inner Circle’s locker room. While he was giving a speech to The Pinnacle, Jericho and co. were waiting outside to thrash him.

The Inner Circle savaged all the members of The Pinnacle. Chris Jericho attacked MJF and shoved his head in a toilet before the rest of the members dragged him outside the locker room and left him there.

It was an embarrassing moment for MJF, and he is definitely seeking revenge.
